My family has a long history of collecting. My  father was a percussion/ flintlock gun collector. Starting in my youth swords became my passion with Japanese swords in prime position.

My Background

I use many different mediums, such as Stone, Acrylics, Oils, Exotic Hardwoods , Steel and Repurposed Objects. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Ideas manifest in various  ways through my sense of whimsy, balance, color and my individual style.

I'm a urban Sonoran desert soul and enjoy  it's nature and cultural aspects. I love creating  new objects and imagery  in my work. As a sculptor and Weapons/Militaria Collector I am also strongly influenced by history and process. I have been very fortunate to have received a Fulbright Scholarship to Japan. While there many added experiences provided new inspirational content both personally and in my creations.

I am the President of the Japanese Sword Society of  the United States and welcome you to look at our free website. Currently we are in the process of publishing past newsletters dealing with Japanese Swords and related subjects as a free service on the intenet. In addition we continue to fund  new sword translations.
