Japanese Swords

This is an excellent dagger in every way.  The blade has a 6 1/4” nagasa
(cutting edge length) and is signed “Masanao”.  This blade was made
during the Shinshinto period (1780-1868) in about 1800 A.D.  It
is of hirazukuri form (slab sided) with thick armour piercing proportions.
It has a notare homon (swelling temper line) and is in full polish.  The
mounts are of very fine quality with the Fuchi/Kashira (pommel end caps)
heavily inlayed in golf floral blossoms.  The Kodzuka (side knife handle)
depicts a running oni (house demon) in gold and silver.
